When the Goshen Lady Eagles basketball team hits the court for practice next year its leader will be gone.
Lindsey Hornbuckle resigned as the Lady Eagles head coach because her family is relocating to Tennessee.
“I hate to leave all of the girls, but my husband just graduated and got a job at a CPA firm in Chattanooga, Tenn.,” Hornbuckle said. “This decision was based solely on a job relocation.”
The former leader of the Lady Eagles said she would be working at Walker Valley High School in Cleveland, Tenn. She is certified to teach in Tennessee and Alabama because she graduated from Lee University in Cleveland.
Hornbuckle led the Lady Eagles to the Class 2A AHSAA Central Region semifinals during the 2008-09 campaign. She led Goshen to an area championship and a 9-9 season record.
“I will truly miss my team and everyone else I became close with in Goshen,” Hornbuckle said. “I would like to thank Dr. (Mark) Bazzell and everyone on the Pike County board for giving me the opportunity at Goshen. And I would like to thank all the faculty and staff at Goshen for working with me all year.”
