Leroy Julian Hussey, age 80, of Banks, Alabama, died Saturday, October 10, 2015, in Luverne, Alabama, after a brief illness. Mr. Hussey was born May 15, 1935, to Byrd L. Hussey and Ruby Morgan Hussey. Mr. Hussey graduated from Pike County High School and worked as an Engineer Assistant with the Alabama Department of Transportation in Troy. A funeral service was held Monday, October 12, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Reverends Tommy Manns, Lloyd Hodge, and Larry Elders officiating. Burial followed in the Hussey Cemetery located on Alabama Highway 223 in Banks, Alabama. Visitation was Monday from 12 – 2 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home. Survivors include his children, Holly June Harrison, Dolly Ann Chester and Livy Leavell, Carl and Ann Hussey, Bill Hussey, Faye and Randy Juneau; daughter-in-law, Jody Hussey; a very dear and special lady in his life and her grandson, Myrtle Wingard and Brad Bass; grandchildren, Samuel (Sammy) Simmons, Stephanie Justice, Kayla (Chester) Arnall, Jason Hussey, Heather Hussey, Patrick Hussey, Chris Juneau, Jennifer Juneau Howard, Shannon (Webo) Keith Hussey, Jr., Keegan Gabriel Hussey, Aidan Michael Hussey, Arabella Grace Locke, Kimberly Hussey, Lacey Hussey Peacock; two brothers, Jimmie Hussey and Sanford Hussey. Leroy was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Hazel Lily Pearl Hussey; children, Rhonda Kaye (Baby Twin) and Shannon Keith Hussey Sr.; parents, Byrd and Ruby Hussey; brothers, Charles Gillis and Roscoe Hussey; and a sister, Ailene Berry. Pallbearers were Chris Juneau, Shannon Keith Hussey Jr., Patrick Hussey, Tony Peacock, Michael Howell and Paul Cargile.
