After giving up a safety on their opening drive, the Pike Liberal Arts Patriots struggled to regain momentum as they lost to Lee Scott 39-6 on Friday.

The Patriots managed only 166 yards of total offense and closed out the regular season in disappointing fashion.

The Patriots were able to force a turnover on downs on their own three-yard line, but on the first play from scrimmage Reed Jinright attempted to hand the ball off and was thrown down in the end zone for the safety.

It took Lee Scott a total of six plays to score their next two touchdowns and extend their lead to 16-0.

Sandwiched between the two touchdowns was a Patriot fumble setting up Lee Scott’s offense inside the Patriots 10 yard line.

The Patriots closed out the first half offensively with a total of three punts, an interception a fumble and a safety.

Lee Scott closed out the first half with one more touchdown and a field goal to give them a comfortable 26-0 lead.

The second half didn’t get much better for the Patriots. Lee Scott was able to get a 58-yard touchdown run to further extend their lead over the Patriots.

Lee Scott was able to close out their scoring on Friday night when they took a Reed Jinright punt to the house for a 75-yard touchdown run to give them a 39-0 lead over the Patriots.

With time winding down in the game and their season the Patriots were able to muster their only points of the contest. The Patriots embarked on a 15-play 89-yard touchdown drive that culminated with a 10-yard touchdown pass from Jinright to Dakota McDonald.

Jinright finished the game completing seven of his 23 passes for 78 yards and one touchdown. He also threw two interceptions.

Jinright also led the Patriots in rushing as well, finishing with 47 yards on 20 carries. Reed Johnson finished with 12 yards on five carries.

McDonald finished the game with 35 yards receiving and one touchdown while JT Ball hauled in 3 catches for 31 yards.

The Patriots finish their 2015 season with a 4-6 overall record and a 1-5 record within the AISA AAA Region 2 standings.
