Edward Franklin Barnett Sr.
Dr. Edward Franklin Barnett Sr., age 80, a resident of Troy, AL, died Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Troy with Rev. Tim McQuitty and Dr. Luke Lane officiating. He will lie in state for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery in Glenwood with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 5-7pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
Dr. Barnett is survived by his wife, Patricia Davis Barnett of Troy; daughter, Kimberly Mitchell (Charlie) of Atlanta; son, Edward Franklin Barnett Jr., of Atlanta; 9 grandchildren, Quade Sewell, Ansley Sewell, Sydney Barnett, Sarah Barnett, Gabrielle Barnett, Melissa Mitchell, Morgan Mitchell, C.J. Mitchell, and Caleb Mitchell all of Atlanta; one great granddaughter, Margo Kelso of Atlanta and one sister, Jeanelle Enzor of Troy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vandy Barnett; his mother, Dorothy Mathews Barnett; and his brother, Jerry Barnett.
Pallbearers will be Vince Lucido, Tim Davis, Ken Davis, Emory Ellis, Steve Enzor, Mike Barnett, David Horn and Keith Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim O’Neal, Gene O’masta, John Lee, Marvin Dillard, Billy Walters, Rudy Argenti, Ralph Richburg, Tom Collier, the Barraca Sunday School Class, and the Lydia Sunday School Class,
