Whether you’re looking for good fun or good deals, business owners are hoping you’ll hop down to the Bunny Trail in Downtown Troy this Saturday.
Leigh Anne Windham, who coordinates downtown activities for the City of Troy, said participating merchants will be offering Easter activities and goodies for children from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
“A couple of Downtown businesses wanted to offer some sort of Easter event for the community,” Windham said. “After some discussion, we came up with the Downtown Bunny Trail.
“While the kids are having fun, we hope their parents will enjoy some great shopping and yummy food at the participating merchants and restaurants.
Activities available for children include cookie decorating, Easter egg decorating, a coloring contest, Pin the Tail on the Bunny games, face painting, sidewalk chalk art, free cookies and more.
“Each of the participating businesses will have different activities for the children.”
And, of course, the Easter Bunny will be on the Square for visits and pictures. “The Pike County Chamber of Commerce’s Downtown Committee has arranged to have the Easter Bunny on hand for the children,” Windham said.
“We hope the children will enjoy all the fun Easter activities and goodies this weekend,” she added.
Fifteen businesses are participating in the event, including those on and off The Square and the Johnson Center for the Arts.
“There is always something for everyone in Downtown Troy especially on a day like Saturday,” Windham said. “Your entire family can have a great time.”
