DOTHAN, AL – Charles Henderson dropped two games on the road at Northview High Friday night by scores of 3-2 and 11-7.

Defensive errors were the difference in the first game, as Northview took advantage of three CHHS errors to score two unearned runs in the 3-2 win.

The Cougars scored in the first inning when with two outs as Chandler Davis reached on an infield error and scored on a single and a fielder’s choice for a 1-0 lead.

Northview went up 2-0 in the third when Geoffrey Grier singled, and following another infield error scored on a sacrifice fly.

The Trojans cut the lead to 2-1 in the fifth inning when Carson Tucker hit a one-out double, and scored on a single up the middle by Jabronski Williams.

In the top of the seventh inning CHHS tied the score 2-2 as Devan Suddith doubled and scored on a double by Tucker.

Northview won the game in the bottom of the seventh inning when Grier singled, stole second and scored the winning run on a single to right field by Davis for the 3-2 win.

CHHS was led at the plate in the first game by Williams, Suddith and Tucker with two hits each, while Charlie Tisdale had one hit.

Chase Hartley, Graham Wilkes and Grant Hughes worked on the mound across seven innings for the Trojans.

CHHS built a big lead in the second game but could not hold it, as the Trojans scored two runs in the first, three in the third and two in the fourth for a 7-0 lead.

In the first inning Williams walked, Bryson Gandy singled, and both runners scored on a single by Nick Lewis.

CHHS went up 5-0 in the third as Gandy walked, Lewis singled and Gandy stole home. Hartley then singled, Lewis scored on a ground-out and Hartley scored on a Northview error.

Williams walked with one out in the fourth inning, Gandy was hit by a pitch, Williams scored on an error by the catcher, and Gandy scored on a wild pitch for the 7-0 lead.

Northview overcame the 7-0 CHHS lead and blew the game open with four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and added seven more in the sixth to go ahead for the 11-7 final.

CHHS was led at the plate in the second game by Lewis with three hits while Williams, Gandy, Hartley and Eric Lee had one hit each.

The Trojans are off until Tuesday, when they host Rehobeth in a key Area matchup.
