Lady Eagles volleyball teams sweep Luverne

The Goshen Eagles volleyball teams swept their way through Luverne on Tuesday.

The junior high Eagles (3-0) won in three sets, 18-25, 25-16, 15-10.

The junior varsity girls kept the ball rolling for the Eagles by defeating the Tigers in two sets 25-21, 25-17.

Briona Burden finished the match with three aces, six points scored, 14 assists and three digs. Molly Wares had five aces, 11 points scored, five kills and eight digs.

With the win the junior high Eagles improve their record to 5-1 on the season.

The varsity Eagles made it a clean sweep when they defeated Luverne 25-10, 25-8, 25-11.

Kelsey Gibson finished with five aces, eight points scored, 10 kills and one block. Jada Hall had six aces, 15 points scored, five kills and two digs.

Selena Ellis also had a good night for the Eagles she finished with four aces, 12 points scored, 10 assists and two digs. Kate Warrick had seven aces, eight points scored 12 assists and four digs.

With the win the Eagles improve to 5-6 overall and 1-0 in area play. The Eagles will return to action on Thursday when the Eagles again take on Luverne, this time in Goshen beginning at 4 p.m.
