Ronnie Dean, FACHE, CEO of Troy Regional Medical Center, was recently selected to serve as chair-elect for the Rural Constituency Section of the Alabama Hospital Association (AlaHA). The group provides a forum for hospitals in Alabama that serve the rural areas of the state. 

“Ronnie has been a leader in our Association for many years, serving in a number of capacities including chairing committees and his local hospital council,” said Donald E. Williamson, MD, president of the Alabama Hospital Association.  “There are some huge challenges facing all hospitals, particularly those in rural areas. 

This forum provides an important place for rural leaders to learn from each other and to help advance policies that ensure access to quality health care in all areas of the state.”

After a successful 30-plus year career with Southeast Alabama Medical Center, Dothan, Mr. Dean accepted the role as CEO of Troy Regional Medical Center in June of 2016.  Not only has he been active with AlaHA, but he has also served in numerous leadership positions in the Wiregrass community with the March of Dimes, Wiregrass United Way, First United Methodist Church of Dothan, the Dothan Rotary Club and Wallace Community College.  Mr. Dean is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and was named Troy State University Dothan Alumni of the year in 2004.

The Montgomery-based Alabama Hospital Association is a statewide trade organization that represents more than 100 hospitals and other health care providers by offering membership services designed to enhance the provision of health care services to Alabamians.
