Trojans demolish Tigers

The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans scored in all three innings of their 23-2 rout over rival Greenville in the area opener on Tuesday night.
The win for the Trojans gives them a 1-0 record in the area.
The Trojans had a total of 16 hits in the lopsided contest, but 14 Tiger errors helped lead the way for the Trojans on the scoreboard.
Lindsey Fox and Molly Kate Sanders finished 3-4 with three RBIs and Rose Snyder finished 2-4 with two RBIs. Whitaka Lowery had two hits in four at-bats with two RBIs, while Kaitlyn Richardson went 2-3 with 1 RBI.
Emma Kirkpatrick got the start for the Trojans and pitched one inning, allowing one run on no hits and two walks. Snyder came in and pitched the final two innings and allowed one run on one hit and struck out three.
It didn’t take long for the Trojans to get on the scoreboard. They scored six runs in the top of the first inning to set the tone for the rest of the evening.
Snyder drove in Grayson Adams with a double for the first run of the game. Rose Snyder came around to score on a sacrifice fly from Tucker Earls. Fox tripled and would later come around to score on a wild pitch to make it a 3-0. Sanders scored on an error, and Lowery closed out the scoring with a two-run homerun to make the score 6-0 before the Tigers had a chance to bat.
After Greenville scored a run in the bottom of the first, the Trojans put the game out of reach in the second when they scored 11 runs to bring the score to 17-1. Sanders, Richardson and Alexis Turner all came around to score while Fox, Snyder, Armstrong and Earles all scored twice.
The Trojans put the last nail in the coffin in the third inning when they scored their final six runs of the game. Jaicee Todd singled to score Richardson, Todd came around to score on a single by Snyder, Fox came around to score on an error, Adams scored when Sanders bunted and reached first base safely and Williams scored on an error.
The Trojans will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to take on Rehobeth.
