Police have developed a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a man at Watkins Court Saturday night.
Troy Police Chief Randall Barr said the facts of the case have been presented to the Pike County District Attorney’s Office and will be presented to a Pike County Grand Jury.
Police responded to a call of shots fired at Watkins Court at approximately 11:21 p.m. Saturday and arrived to find Jemarion Deandre Edwards, 27, dead of a gunshot wound.
Officials have not released details about the incident at this time, except that there were “a lot of people on Watkins Court when Edwards was shot” according to Barr.
Barr said the case remains open and active and police are still seeking information from the public regarding the case and events leading up to the shooting.
The Pike County Coroner’s Office is also assisting in the investigation.
Anyone with information about the events that took place leading up to the shooting death of Edwards is asked to contact the Troy Police Department at 334-566-0500 or call the Secret Witness Line at 334-566-5555.
