Maxine Barbaree Thrash

Maxine Barbaree Thrash, 92, known as “Punk,” went home to her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 15, 2018.  She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, “Maw Maw” to her grandchildren, and “Aunt Mac” to her many nieces and nephews.  She was a shining example of a Christian wife and mother.  “Punk” was the matriarch of “Barbaree Loop”, where she resided for 92 years.  God and family were the most important things in her life, and she instilled those values in her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Thrash, and two grandchildren.  Survivors include her children, Larry Thrash (Sandra), Debbie Jordan (Al), and Steve Thrash (Sharon); seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Reverend Averyt Walker and the Reverend J.C. Turner officiating.  Burial will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.  There will be a one-hour lie-in-state prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Barbaree, Josh Barbaree, Mike Barbaree, Chris Cope, Birch Womble, and Patrick Freed.

Donations can be made in Maxine’s memory to Compassus Hospice of Troy or Shiloh Baptist Church of Banks.
