A Troy man suspected in a shooting at a convenience store at the corner of University Avenue and South Brundidge Street Friday afternoon has turned himself in according to authorities.

Abrien Kirk Myhand, 23, reportedly came into the Pike County Jail at approximately 10 a.m. Sunday to turn himself if on a charge of attempted murder in relation to the shooting.

Troy police identified Myhand as the suspect in the shooting late Friday night, stating that he had fled from the scene in a burnt orange 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt.

A 20-year-old victim was transported to a Montgomery hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and has been released. The victim had fled from the scene after being wounded and was found by officers in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex.

Another occupant of the vehicle which Myhand allegedly shot into was uninjured. Multiple shots were fired at the vehicle.

Troy police chief Randall Barr said the shooter and victim had exchanged words shortly prior to the incident.

Myhand is being held on a $75,000 bond. The charge is a Class A Felony punishable by up to life in prison.
