The Troy Police chief said officers believe an armed robbery and string of burglaries early Friday morning might be related.
Police responded to a report of a robbery at an off-campus residence in the 200 block of John M. Long Drive, formerly Collegedale, at approximately 2:30 a.m. Friday morning.
“According to the report, two black males entered the residence armed with handguns,” said Chief Randall Barr. “The unknown suspects went through the residence and took electronic items and the victim’s wallet. The suspects then left the residence on foot.”
Barr said the resident was not injured during the robbery.
One suspect is described as 6’ 1”and weighing 160 pounds, wearing a baggy white shirt and blue jeans. The other suspect is approximately 5’3” and weighing 180 pounds, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. Both suspects covered their faces, according to the report.
Police also received reports of several vehicle burglaries Thursday night and early Friday.
“There were two reported on John M. Long Drive and several others in the 600 block of Elm Street,” Barr said. “All of the vehicles involved were left unlocked.”
