The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans hosted senior night on Monday when they took on area foe Greenville. They had reason to celebrate when they swept the Tigers 25-7, 25-19 and 25-15.

The win for the Trojans improves their record to 19-12 on the year and 5-0 in area play.

“We did some good things,” said head coach Sonny Kirkpatrick. “The great thing is we got everybody in. Our seniors played the entire match. All three seniors were recognized before the match. It was a special night. Everyone got repetitions.”

The Trojans have worked on being aggressive all season long when it came to attacking the ball. On Monday, it turned into a great night at hitting the ball over the net.

“We probably had the highest hitting percentage we’ve ever had,” Kirkpatrick said.

Anyla Shipman had eight kills for the Trojans. Reece Moore added four, while Tanner Moore, Samira Moore, Sydney Watson and Matti Owens all had three kills.

Moore added seven aces, while Ragan Hudson added five.

“It was a good win to go 19-12,” Kirkpatrick said. “We had a great crowd and they had the chance to celebrate our seniors’ last regular season match. I couldn’t be prouder of them tonight.”
