A man recently charged with the theft of a church in Troy has been charged with three more counts of theft by Troy police.
Kenya Demon Flowers, 28, of Troy, was arrested last Friday by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and charged with the theft of an air conditioning unit at Whitewater Church on County Road 3319 in Troy and criminal mischief in connection with the damage of another unit at the church.
Now Troy police have added three additional first-degree theft of property charges against Flowers in connection with more thefts of air conditioning units at another local church.
Troy police chief Randall Barr said the other thefts occurred at a church in the 2000 block of County Road 5520.
Flowers is being held at the Pike County Jail on $15,000 bond for the three charges.
An observant church member at Whitewater Church notified deputies last Friday of a car leaving the scene of the theft there and deputies soon tracked down the vehicle with Flowers and the stolen air conditioner inside. Also inside were parts from the destroyed air-conditioning unit.
Deputies also arrested Mia Walker, 20, of Troy, at that time and charged her with first-degree theft of property and first-degree criminal mischief in connection with the theft. A juvenile was also arrested.
Barr said three other individuals are also wanted in connection to the thefts on County Road 5520.
