A Troy woman was killed Friday evening when her vehicle collided with another on U.S. Highway 231 near Kelly Road.

Porsha Johnson, 32, was killed when her 2008 Chevrolet Impala struck a 2014 Kia Forte driven by a 17-year-old juvenile from Troy, according to State Troopers. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The juvenile and his passenger were also injured in the collision. One person was transported for treatment by Life Flight while the other was taken from the scene by ground ambulance.

Traffic was slowed in both directions on the busy highway as officers worked to attend to the needs of the injured passengers and traffic came to a complete standstill as the Haynes LifeFlight helicopter descended directly onto U.S. Highway 231 during rush hour.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
