Lady Eagles close out area play with a win

The Goshen Lady Eagles knocked off area foe New Brockton 52-27 on Monday night in Goshen.

The win for the Eagles improves their area record on the season to 4-2. They are 7-7 overall.

Goshen’s leading scorer Bree Griffin led all scorers on Monday night when she tallied 33 points with 13 rebounds and six steals.

Harmony Robinson added 15 points.

Of New Brockton’s 27 points, 23 came from two players. Briana Adkinson scored a team-high 12 points, while Paula McKenna scored 11.

The Eagles will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to take on Brantley.

Pike Liberal Arts 63 Fort Dale 35

The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots improved to 16-5 with a 28-point win over the rival Eagles. The Patriots outscored the Eagles 34-16 in the first half before pulling away in the third and fourth quarter. Cody Hollis led the way with 14 points, while Jade Sikes had 12 points. Ty Singleton finished with nine points. Javon Christian and Nick O’Brien had seven points.

Pike Liberal Arts Lady Patriots 20 Fort Dale 43

The Lady Patriots scored just eight first half points on their way to a 23-point loss at the hands of the Eagles.

The Patriots failed to have a player score in double figures in the loss. Tiffany Johnson led the way for the Patriots with six points. Ansley Adams finished with five points, while Caroline Senn finished with four points and Shelby Renfroe had three.
