Scarbrough, Trojans pick up a win against Northview

The Charles Henderson Trojans scored early and often in their 10-2 win over Northview on Monday evening at Hogan’s Hole in Troy.
The Trojans scored a total of seven runs in their eight-run win over Northview.
Anthony Gurba got the start for the Trojans. Gurba allowed one run over 5.1 innings of work. He allowed eight hits and struck out three batters. Jaylen Deveridge took the Trojans the rest of the way. He didn’t allow a base runner over the final 1.2 innings. He struck out one batter.
Lawson Scarbrough went 3-4 with four RBI and three runs scored. Cole McWhorter and Keonte Brantley each picked up two hits. McWhorter drive in four runs, while Brantley had one. Chance Pollard, Brock Huner, Caden Bryan and Jackson Giles all had one hit.
After allowing a run in the top of the first, Pollard led off the bottom of the inning and reached after he got hit by a pitch. He later came around to score on a Scarbrough double to give the Trojans their first run. Two batters later, Brantley hit a double of his own to drive in Scarbrough.
Pollard came around to score in the second on a Huner single to increase Charles Henderson’s lead to 3-0.
After Northview got back to within one at 3-2, the Trojans had two hits in the fourth, including a Scarbrough single and a McWhorter double to bring the score to 6-2.
The Trojans pulled away one inning later when they scored four more runs. With the bases loaded, Scarbrough hit a two-run single, scoring Giles and Pollard. In the next at-bat, McWhorter singled to dive in both Pollard and Scarbrough.
The Trojans will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to take on Greenville. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. The Trojans will then return home on Friday to take on Greenville in a double-header beginning at 5 p.m.
