Troy Kiwanis hosts Best in Alabama Car Show

The Troy Kiwanis Club “Best in Alabama” car show Saturday raised money for vaccinations to prevent maternal and neonatal tetanus around the world.
“Thanks to the generosity of car enthusiasts in our area the Troy Kiwanis Club raised enough money on Saturday to vaccinate over 800 moms and children to protect them from Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus,” said Caleb Dawson, president of the Kiwanis Club.
L.B. Pevehouse of Troy took home the top award of “Best in Alabama” for his 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air.
Frank Hicks of Ramer had the longest relationship with his car, keeping his 1940 Ford pickup running for 79 years.
Cecil Simmons of Ozark also had his 1938 Packard for the same length of time.
