The Bulldogs of Pike County ended its season on high note on Friday night as it defeated Abbeville twice in its final double-header of the season, winning 17-1 and 14-1, both in five innings.
“It was a good way to end the season for both the team and the seniors,” head coach Nathan Fordham said Friday night.
“This will be something to help us build off of for next season.”
The two wins gave PCHS a final record of 6-10.
Martin Larkin and Deion Nickson both went deep for the Bulldogs while Cody Sanders and Ryan Stroud were both the winning pitchers.
“Both of our starters did a great job for us (on Friday night),” the coach said.
“(The season) didn’t turn out as we had hope or as well as I expected.
“But I think everyone, including me, learned a lot,” Fordham added.
