A new family health care center will open in Troy next week, and walk-ins will be welcomed.
Assistant office manager Allison Lecroy McCullough said the community had a need for a health center that can accomodate walk-ins.
“There are a lot of college students here that may not have a regular doctor and just need somewhere they can walk in and get an appointment,” McCullough said. “We also provide occupational medicine such as drug screens, breath alcohol tests – that’s really what brought us here. There are a lot of companies that need another option for somewhere that can provide those services.”
Ivy Creek Family Care Center is one of several medical care facilities owned by Mike and Tonya Bruce. McCullough, a Troy native, had been working at Ivy Creek Urgent Care in Enterprise and is excited to be able to work in the community she calls home.
Ivy Creek Family Care is located next to Bill Jackson Chevrolet and will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
In addition to walk-ins, the family care center will offer traditional primary care by appointment.
McCullough said the center should open on Monday, September 16, or later that week in the case of an unforeseen delay.
