The Colley Senior Complex is gearing up for the Christmas season with two big events, its Colley Center Family Christmas Breakfast on Wednesday and Open House on Wednesday, December 11.

“At the Colley Senior Complex, we love to celebrate and we have so much to celebrate during the Christmas season,” said Catherine Jordan, center director. “The Colley Senior Complex, we begin our month-long celebration with our family breakfast on Wednesday. This is a special time for our Colley Center family and, because we are such a large family, we are always coming and going. We don’t often get to see everybody so this is a special time for our ‘family’ to come together.”

Jordan said the breakfast will be at 8 a.m. Wednesday and it will be a smorgasbord with everything from syrup and sausage to pancakes and pound cake.

“Our big, happy family will include all the local officials that support the Colley Senior Complex throughout the year and our very dedicated board members,” Jordan said. “It will include those who are our support people, those who mow grass and fix things and support us in so many ways. The breakfast is our way of saying ‘thank you’ and ‘we appreciate you.’”

Special entertainment for the breakfast will be the Colley Senior Complex recorder ensemble and violin class led by Jim Wadowick.

The next Christmas evert hosted by the Colley Senior Complex will be Open House from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11.

“We invite the community to come and see what great activities we have going on,” Jordan said. “People ride by our building but have no idea what great things are going on inside. When people come in for the first time, they are amazed at all we have to offer. When they see the activities we have on a daily basis, they can’t wait to get involved. When people take that first step inside, they say they should have been coming all along.”
