Charles Henderson splits with Luverne on the road

The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans scored 35 first quarter points in their 72-15 win over the Luverne Tigers on Monday evening in Luverne.
The win keeps Charles Henderson undefeated at 8-0.
The Charles Henderson Trojans held Luverne scoreless in the first quarter and went into halftime holding a commanding 50-9 lead over the Tigers.
Samira Moore and Niaira Jones combined to score 24 of the Trojans 50 first half points.
The Trojans offense totaled 22-second half points, but held the Tigers to just six points after allowing three points in both the third and fourth quarters.
Moore led all scorers with 18 points, while Jones finished right behind her with 15 points. Makala Hobdy and Deanna Gosha each scored in double figures with 13 and 10 points respectively.
The Luverne Tigers made a shot at the buzzer to knock off the Charles Henderson boys varsity basketball team 42-40 on Monday night in Luverne.
The Trojans entered the fourth quarter trailing 34-31, but in the game’s final seconds were tied with Tigers. Luverne made a tip-in at the buzzer to knock off the Trojans.
Tay Knox led the Trojans with 12 points, 10 of which came in the opening half. Mario
Davenport also finished in double figures with 10 points.
Darryl Lee and Devin Parker each finished with five points.
Charles Henderson remains on the road on Tuesday night when they travel to Clayton to take on Barbour County.
