A Troy man has been charged with armed robbery after allegedly holding a man at gunpoint inside his residence.
D’ante Deshaun Jackson, 19, was arrested on a charge of first-degree robbery on Jan. 22 after police responded to the robbery report at approximately 9 p.m. on Jan. 19 in the 300 block of Aster Avenue.
“The victim told police that he had been robbed by a black male that he had met while walking home from a party,” said Troy Police Chief Randall Barr. “When they got to the victim’s residence, the victim allowed the male subject to enter the residence. Once inside the male subject produced a handgun and took a purse from the victim that contained a small amount of cash and property.”
Jackson was later identified as the suspect and warrants were obtained for his arrest.
Jackson has been booked into the Pike County Jail on a $75,000 bond. First-degree robbery is a Class A Felony punishable by 20 years to life in prison.
