The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans are area champions once again after they knocked off Greenville 83-22 in the Class 5A Area 3 championship on Friday night.

The Trojans finished with four players scoring in double figures on Friday night. The Trojans scored 22 points in each of the first two quarters before going into halftime holding a comfortable 44-18 lead.

Niaira Jones and Samira Moore each finished with 10 first half points.

Jones made four third quarter 3-pointers and the Trojans outscored the Tigers 21-2 in the quarter and went into the fourth quarter leading 65-20.

Jones, Kristan Jackson and Makala Hobdy each made a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter and the Trojans cruised to a 61-point lead.

Jones finished the contest with 25 points, while Moore added 19. Mykyia Milton finished with 13 points and Jackson finished with 11.

The Trojans will now advance to the Class 5A Sub-Regional Round will they will host a second place team from a different area.

The Trojans are aiming to return to Birmingham and compete for another state championship.
