A pair of Troy men have been charged with murder in connection with a June 6 fatal shooting outside a club.
Justus Davis, 20, and Jermaine Thomas, 36, were both charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder on Wednesday. They were being held on $300,000 bond each in the Pike County Jail.
The shooting took place in the early hours of June 6 outside a club on U.S. 231 south of Brundidge. Several shots were fired in a parking area across the highway from the club and three men were injured. Nicholas McBryde died as a result of the shooting. Two victims were hospitalized, one with life-threatening injuries.
“We’ve been working seven days a week on this case, interviewing witnesses and others involved,” said Chief Deputy Buck Williams. “This is the first step in getting closure for the families, which we promised them.”
Assisting with the investigation were the U.S. Marshals Service, the Pike County District Attorney, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, the Troy Police Department and the Pike County Coroner’s Office.
