Troy Police are investigating a shooting that killed a Ramer man Monday night.

The shooting took place at the Tanglewood Apartments on Alabama Highway 87.

According to Chief Randall Barr, officers responded around 9:13 p.m. to a report of several shots being fired in the area.

“When officers arrived, they found 21-year-old Jacoby Deshon Cogburn of Ramer deceased at the rear of Tanglewood Apartments,” he said.

Barr said Cogburn appears to be the only person shot in the incident.

Nearby residents reported hearing multiple gunshots, and Barr said other individuals were at the scene when officers arrived.

Barr would not release further details about the incident, saying it remains under investigation. Police are asking anyone with information in the case to contact the TPD at 334-5660-0500 or the Secret Witness Line at 334-566-5555.
