Local officers are investigating two separate incidents where firearms were pulled on local residents in the last days.

Around 11:47 a.m. Monday, Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas said officers were notified shots had been fired at a vehicle traveling on County Road 3306.

Upon arrival, Thomas said deputies found shell casings that appeared to come from two separate firearms.

Sgt. Sam Mallory said initial evidence showed two bullet holes in the vehicle of a local woman, who was reported to have been traveling down County Road 3306 when the driver of another vehicle allegedly fired shots at her car.

The victim told deputies the suspects fired shots on her side of the vehicle while trying to run her car off the road.

A male passenger was also in the vehicle when the shooting took place, and no one was injured in the incident.

“As of right now, we are in the process of interviewing and still investigating complaints of one of the victims,” Mallory said.

Thomas said he anticipates arrests to stem from the investigation shortly.

“We are attempting to locate the possible suspect and the suspect vehicle, and arrests will be forthcoming,” Thomas said.

In a separate incident, the Troy Police Department continues to seek several suspects who allegedly held those gathered at a local party at gunpoint and took off with their personal property Saturday night.

Around 10:30 p.m., police were notified several came to an outdoor gathering at a Terrace Trail residence, off Trojan Way, held those gathered at gunpoint and took off with money, said Troy Police Spokesman Sgt. Benny Scarbrough.

Scarbrough would not release the number of alleged perpetrators or the number of victims, as investigation is still pending. There were no reported injuries.

No arrests have been made at this time, but Scarbrough said police are looking at some individuals who may have committed the crime. All the suspects have been identified as black males.

“We’re continuing to investigate the incident, circumstances around it and any and all potential perpetrators that might be connected with it,” Scarbrough said.
