On Nov. 30, Pike County Chamber of Commerce President Dana Sanders notified the Chamber Board of Directors that she would be resigning from her position.
Sanders is departing her position with The Pike County Chamber of Commerce to accept a position as Workforce Development Coordinator with Southeast AlabamaWorks.
Sanders, a Troy University graduate, spent nearly a decade in Troy City Schools, as a teacher, and went on to work for a number of years for the Pike County Economic Development Corporation. Since starting with the Pike County Chamber of Commerce in 2018 she has worn a number of titles including vice president, executive director and president.
“I would like to use this opportunity to thank you for the support you have shown the organization and myself,” Sanders said in her statement to chamber members. “Additionally, I am incredibly grateful for the many friendships that I have developed along the way. I wish you and the organized continued success.”
Sanders will continue working with the Chamber through Dec. 22 before starting with Southeast AlabamaWorks.
“This opportunity allows me to utilize both my background in education and knowledge of helping our businesses and industries continue to grow,” Sanders said. “I feel true peace about leaving (The Pike County Chamber of Commerce), knowing that this organization is in the best shape it has ever been in and the great leadership in our board of directors, and so I can walk away knowing that the best days of this organization are still ahead of it.”
