Troy men’s and women’s basketball continue to be premier group of five programs in the NCAA on and off the court, as they combined to set new benchmarks for the highest total number of season tickets sold and revenue associated with season tickets.

“We are incredibly appreciative of our great season ticket holders plus our incredible and passionate student body for helping us establish new ticket and revenue benchmarks for both men’s and women’s basketball in Trojan Arena,” Director of Athletics Brent Jones said. “With the help of Trojan Nation, we have created one of the best home court advantages in the Sun Belt Conference.”

The 2023-24 campaign has seen a sharp increase in season ticket numbers sold, rising 10 percent to last season. Additionally, the revenue generated by season ticket sales has jumped 12 percent from 2022-23.

Through non-conference play, women’s basketball has seen an average home attendance of 1,738, which ranks fourth in the Sun Belt Conference – just 170 away from Southern Miss at three. The women’s program saw its highest attendance at the season opener against Ball State, where the Trojans battled in front of 2,126 fans.

“As always, we are so thankful for our supporters who come out to Trojan Arena to watch our games,” head women’s basketball coach Chanda Rigby said. “Brent Jones and his staff have worked really hard to market our program and grow our season ticket sales. Having our fans in the stands makes Trojans Arena such a special place to play. We look forward to sharing many wins with our fans there in the New Year.”

Men’s basketball has also seen the seventh-ranked attendance in the SBC, averaging 2,309 for home events. They peaked in the season opener against Fort Lauderdale with an attendance of 3,321. Led by Tayton Conerway on 15 points, the Trojans would win 92-47 in front of Trojan Nation.

“Trojan fans have given us a distinct home-court advantage over the last few years,” head men’s basketball coach Scott Cross said. “The crowds keep growing and our loyal fans definitely help make the difference in the outcome of games. We know that we could not have the success we have had if it wasn’t for our great fans and supporters. Please continue to help make Trojan Arena the best home court in the Sun Belt.”

Both teams have begun their respective Sun Belt Conference journeys, with men’s basketball playing four straight games in Trojan Arena starting Thursday, Jan. 4, against Old Dominion. Meanwhile, the women prepare to welcome Louisiana in game one of a doubleheader event on Wednesday, Jan. 10.
