The Brundidge Historical Society will hold its first meeting of 2024 at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, January 11, at the We Piddle Around Theater. All members are encouraged to be in attendance.
“And, as always, we encourage prospective members of all ages to come and learn more about what the BHS does and to suggest new ideas for the New Year,” Bowden said.
The membership fees are $15 for individuals and $25 for couples.”
Bowden said the BHS has several annual events that have been very successful but the membership is always looking for new ways to support and expand the arts in Brundidge and the surrounding area.
Although, the BHS has several on-going events, members may pick and choose the events in which they have the most interest.
“The BHS welcomes new members of all ages and would like to see more young adults get involved,” Bowden said.
“The pandemic greatly affected the number of children in our folk life play, ‘Come Home, It’s Suppertime.’
“Our audiences really enjoy the children so we are looking forward to getting kids back on stage.”
The BHS’ annual events include the Peanut Butter Festival, the original folklife play “Come Home, It’s Suppertime, the Chili Country Christmas, the Pike Piddlers Storytelling Festival in January and a spring event, titled June Buggin’ which is as unpredictable and amazing as the flight of a June bug.
