While the Troy Trojans have lost nearly 20 players to the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason, Troy got some good news over the last several days with three additions to the roster.
Troy landed commitments from Gardner-Webb linebacker Brendan Jackson, East Carolina running back Gerald Green and East Carolina linebacker Raneiria “RaRa” Dillworth.
Jackson is coming off an All-Big South season at Gardner-Webb with 71 tackles, 11.5 tackles-for-loss, five sacks and one interception. The 6-foot-2-inch, 210-pound linebacker also scored four rushing touchdowns during the season, as well.
In 2022, Jackson tallied 27 tackles, 7.5 tackles-for-loss and two sacks at Gardner-Webb. Prior to playing at Gardner-Webb, the Statesboro, Ga., native, spent a season at Savannah State where he finished his freshman campaign with 37 tackles, four tackles-for-loss, a sack, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
Dillworth is a 6-foot-2-inch, 195-pound Winston-Salem, NC, native, that started his football career at North Carolina in the ACC. Dillworth was rated as the No. 6 overall prospect in North Carolina coming out of high school and was an Under Armour All-American.
In two seasons at North Carolina, Jackson earned 19 tackles, 2.5 tackles-for-loss and two sacks. Dillworth transferred to East Carolina in 2023, and started seven games for the Pirates. He tallied 21 points, one tackle-for-loss and one pass breakup as a junior.
Green also played this past season at East Carolina after playing four seasons at Georgia Southern. The Columbus, Ga., running back stands at 6-foot and 200 pounds and earned All-State honors in high school as a senior after rushing for 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns.
At Georgia Southern, Green tallied 256 carries for 1,456 yards and 13 touchdowns. In 2022, he earned a career-high 483 yards and six touchdowns. He averaged nearly six yards-per-carry during his GSU career.
In eight games with Eastern Carolina this season, Green totaled 101 yards and two touchdowns on just 25 carries. Green will have one year of eligibility left.
