For 17 years, the Pike Piddlers Storytelling has attracted those from near and far who enjoy the art of stories told in the oral tradition.
So, it will be again the last weekend in January 2024, when the Brundidge Historical Society hosts the Pike Piddlers Storytelling Festival at the We Piddle Around Theater in Brundidge and the Trojan Center Theater on the campus of Troy University.
This year’s festival will feature master storytellers Donald Davis, the Dean of Storytelling; Michael Reno Harrell, Appalachian picker and grinner; Dolores Hydock, highly acclaimed story performer, and newcomer to the festival the Rev. Robert Jones who plays, sings and tells stories that are tailor made for piddlin’ around.
Anne Register, ticket chair for the weekend event, said already the Friday night supper and stories event at the We Piddle Around Theater is sold out.
“We have people from as far away as California to enjoy, not only the Friday night event, but all day on Saturday.
Register said all four tellers will be at each of the three storytelling concerts at the Trojan Center Theater.
