County Rivals: Charles Henderson tops Pike County, Pike Lib bests Goshen

Saturday was a day of county showdowns in Pike County as Charles Henderson battled Pike County and Pike Liberal Arts met Goshen on the basketball court.
The Charles Henderson Trojans topped county rival Pike County Bulldogs by a score of 69-59 on Jan. 13.
Jywon Boyd led the Trojans to victory with 21 points, while Kam Christian scored 18 points and Markelis Hobdy added 12 points for the Bulldogs.
The Lady Trojans also picked up a rivalry win over Pike County by a score of 53-19. Takeiya Brockton and Kamari Strozier scored 13 points each, while Jasmine Foster added 11 points in the win.
The Pike County boys also fell 53-48 to New Brockton on Jan. 12. Markelis Hobdy scored 15 points for the Dawgs and Kam Christian chipped in with 11 points. The Pike County girls fell 47-24 to New Brockton. Kondrea Griffin and JoJo Thomas scored seven points each.
Meanwhile, the Pike Liberal Arts Patriots picked up an exciting 46-45 win over the Goshen Eagles on Jan. 13 as Jackson Mitchell scored 14 points and Sawyer Keck added 13 points in the win.
For Goshen, Makayel McBride earned two points, nine blocks and nine rebounds, while Jayden McNabb led the way with 19 points, five rebounds and four steals. KJ Bristow chipped in with eight points and four assists.
