Trojan Art Day on Friday was chilly and damp but Mother Nature couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm of those who came to learn more about art from university instructors, volunteer artists and from student artists themselves.
Dr. Kelly Berwager, Troy University art education advisor and organizer of Troy Art Day 2024 said approximately 450 students from throughout the district came to experience a university campus, to participate in hands-on art projects and to learn from instructors and students who are knowledgeable and enthusiast about art and, perhaps, plan a career that includes some form of art.
“Trojan Art Day is always a special day for coming together to celebrate the power of the visual arts design,” Berwager said. “Troy Art Day offers workshop, demonstrations and mini competitions led by students and faculty from the Department of Art and Design.”
On Friday, students came to the Troy University campus to experience art in new and exciting ways.
If was a great day to celebrate the arts, Berwager said.
Trojan Art Day is an opportunity for Trojan recruitment. Many students are experiencing a university for the first time and discovering the many opportunities Troy University offers including and other than art.
Trojan Art Day is a day for high school students to better know and understand what college life holds and here at an outstanding university close to home.
