Sheik Styling Salon Cooperation (Nonprofit 501c3) presented its first event of Unique Services, on Saturday, located at Sheik Styling Salon, 717 North Notch Street. At this event, there were eleven youth that participated. There were participants that were represented from Charles Henderson High School, Pike County High School and New Life Christian Academy. The next meeting date is scheduled for Saturday, March 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. We still have nine slots remain available for this session.
This project is to connect to our underserved youth from grades seven to 12. There will be four three-sessions; with 20 participants in each session. A ceremony will follow each three-month session. The mission of this organization is mentoring, educating, training; and providing social skills to empower a positive change within the communities.
This project will be targeting the underserved youth with bullying, suicide, critical thinking, build self-confidence for our youth in Pike County; and surrounding areas. There will also be activities, and fun projects for them to do.
Also, once month, we will choose a student to get a free hairstyle.
