Trojan Art Day 2024 was, once again a great success and got thumbs up from students and facilitators.
Even the rain didn’t dampen the contagious Trojan spirit.
“It was messy but everyone seemed to have a great time,” said Kelly Berwager, Troy University art education advisor and organizer of Troy Art Day 2024. “We had 19 schools from 12 different systems for a total of around 400 students- middle school, high school and Troy University and chaperons.”
Berwager said, for the middle and high school students, they not only got a glimpse of college life in the Department of Art and Design, they were able to mingle with university instructors and students.
“They could ask questions and get immersed in the art-making process alongside people they might be with in just a few years,” Berwager said.
The Troy art education students were involved in every way months before the Troy Art Day 2024 took place.
“They were involved in planning, coordinating, prepping, assisting and, in some cases, teaching workshops with the middle and high school students.”
Already, the Troy Art Department is looking toward to Trojan Art Day 2025 and is dedicated to making it a campus experience to remember.
