The unveiling of the 2008 AISA Class 3A state championship rings was the highlight of the night at Pike Liberal Arts School Tuesday during the fall sports banquet in the cafetorium.
The varsity football team took their rings with pride and the varsity volleyball, varsity cheerleading, JV football, JV volleyball and JV cheerleading teams took their bows in front of the crowd of family and friends.
All the coaches of the various sports shared stories from the season and handed out awards.
“These guys worked so hard ever since we lost in the playoffs last year,” head football coach Steven Kilcrease said. “They would always be working. Whether it was in season or the off season these guys gave it all they had.”
