The Troy Trojans football team got some good news for the 2025 recruiting class this weekend as three-star rated pass rusher Uchenyo Ojata announced his commitment to the Trojans.
Ojata is a 6-foot-4-inch, 200-pound Carmel, IN, native that is rated as the No. 25 overall prospect in the State of Indiana and the 57th ranked edge rusher in the country. Ojata chose to commit to Troy over a slew of offers from other schools, including Power 5 programs like California, Indiana, Nebraska and West Virginia.
“Just the whole staff, I got to know some of the staff while they were at Notre Dame and I enjoyed the campus and the tradition they have there,” Ojata told 247Sports about his decision. “It just feels like a home and family when I was down there.”
As a junior, Ojata – who projects to play bandit at Troy – earned 27 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, two sacks, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and a touchdown. He runs an impressive 4.50 in the 40-yard dash with a 10.5 broad jump.
