Area Baseball: Charles Henderson drops series with Rehobeth

This weekend, the Charles Henderson Trojans lost two of three games in an area series with Rehobeth.
CHHS started things off with a 6-4 win over Rehobeth on Friday. Owen Pugh went 2-for-5 at the plate with an RBI and a run, while Parker Adams went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Chase Vaznaian, Josh Hooten and Kellen Stewart earned a double each. Adams pitched seven innings and fanned seven batters, while giving up eight hits and two earned runs.
On Saturday, the two sides met in a doubleheader. Charles Henderson lost the first of the two games by a score of 5-0. Hooten, Adams and Owen Pugh earned one hit each. Clay Johnson pitched six innings and struck out three batters, while giving up 10 hits and four earned runs.
Charles Henderson lost the third – deciding game – by a score of 5-0, as well. Vaznaian, Adams, Cooper Johnson and Hooten earned one hit each. Cole Pugh struck out five batters and gave up 10 hits and three earned runs in six innings on the mound.
The Class 2A No. 1-ranked Ariton Purple Cats beat Zion Chapel by a score of 12-2 on April 5. Caden Collier went 3-for-3 at the plate with a home run, an RBI and three runs. Mylers Tyler went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs. Dalton Murphy also hit a double. Easton Kilpatrick struck out six and gave up four hits and one earned run in six innings pitched.
For Zion Chapel, Austin Jordan went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Wes Braisted struck out three and gave up seven hits and five earned runs in two innings pitched.
