The Vine Church and Sav-a-Life joined to partner with local churches and local businesses to support expectant mothers and mothers with children under the age of three with a Baby Shower. The shower was held on Sunday afternoon April 21 at The Vine Church.
At an early county, 65 mothers and mothers-to-were selecting items from a wide selection of donated baby clothing and baby items and books. Baby diapers, food and other
necessary items were available for all mothers-to-be and mothers with children under the ages of three.
Large items were awarded by drawings and stage contests including changing diapers.
Dads who attended had opportunities to answer questions regarding fatherhood.
Both parents were encouraged to visit informational booths about childcare and also, hands-on booths including CPR for babies.
Amanda Johnson, event coordinator, said the Communitywide Baby Shower was a great success in attendance and the interest shown and, also, by the unknown number of those who gave of their time to make the Baby Shower a success and to the local businesses that donated gift cards and all the hands-on-deck throughout the shower.
Appreciation was expressed by the mothers and mothers-to-be with thank-you’s, hugs and tears.
The community-wide baby shower was, as sure as rain, not to be the last.
