At the April 25 Troy City Schools Board of Education Meeting a number of bids for audio/visual improvements system wide were approved.
The board approved a bid from Bailey Brothers Music in the amount of $93,763 for audio/visual upgrades at the Troy Elementary School cafeteria and approved a bid of $38,224.50 from All Pro for audio/visual improvements at the Charles Henderson High School cafeteria.
The school board also approved a bid of $14,202.95 from Troy based QEW Audio/Video for audio improvements at the Charles Henderson Middle School Gym along with approving a $30,862 bid from All Pro for audio/visual upgrades at the Charles Henderson High School Gym. Finally, the school board approved a bid from Bailey Brothers in the amount of $15,036.68 for audio improvements at the Charles Henderson Middle School football field.
Additionally, the board approved a consulting contract with PowerSchool in the amount of $148,800. PowerSchool provides the student information system (SIS) that Troy City Schools – and all school systems in Alabama – uses. This consulting contract will give Troy City Schools a dedicated consultant two days a week to help with troubleshooting and any issues that the schools have with PowerSchool.
Superintendent Dr. Cynthia Thomas said that this would eliminate the time spent waiting for a help desk ticket to be answered from PowerSchool in the event of any troubleshooting issues.
