The Pike County Sheriff’s Office has charged two men in connection to two separate incidents of burglary.
Sheriff Russell Thomas said Timothy McClure, 43, of Troy, was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, first-degree theft of property, possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamnie, possession of drug paraphernalia and attempting to elude law enforcement officers.
Thomas said McClure allegedly stole three motorcycles, two Stihl chainsaws, a pole saw, electric leaf blower and a Browning bow and arrows from a residence on County Road 7714 north of Meeksville. Thomas said when McClure was apprehended he was in possession of knives, a GPS, chainsaws, weed eaters and other property. Thomas said more than $9,000 worth of stolen property had been returned to it owners. Thomas said some of the items recovered had been reported as stolen to the Troy Police Department. Thomas said there were items recovered, including a weed eater, multiple chainsaws and pressure washers, whose owners are unknown. Thomas said anyone missing similar items should contact the sheriff’s office.
Thomas said McClure had been out of prison for about six months after being paroled on mandatory release. Thomas said McClure’s sentence ran through 2027 and the PCSO is seeking to have his release revoked to serve out his time as well as additional time if convicted of his current charges.
In a separate incident, Thomas said William Cody Gibson, 27, homeless, was charged with the burglary of SunSouth Tractor and a private residence in Brundidge. Thomas said Gibson allegedly was in possession of four chainsaws valued at $2,800. Thomas said Gibson was charged with third-degree receiving stolen property and first-degree receiving stolen property. Thomas said when Gibson was arrested, he was in the company of LaShonna Sasser, of Ariton. He said Sasser was arrested on outstanding warrants with the Troy Police Department and transfered into the TPD’s custody.
