Each year, the Brundidge Police Department plays host to the city’s free fishing day for senior adults at the Brundidge City Pond.
“We greatly appreciate our senior residents and want to provide an opportunity to for them to enjoy the outdoors and also to catch fish – from bream to bass to catfish,” said Brundidge Mayor Isabell Boyd. “The city’s free fishing day is an opportunity for our senior adults to enjoy a time for fishing and fellowship.”
And, for the city’s senior adults, who have not visited the city pond, Boyd said free fishing day is an opportunity to come out and see what is available to them right here in town.
“The City Pond is great place to fish, to picnic, to just relax and enjoy the outdoors.”
Brundidge Police Chief Sam Green said the city’s free fishing day is also an opportunity for the Brundidge police officers to interact with the city’s senior adults.
“We want our officers to have opportunities to get to know more of our community members and for them to get to know our officers,” Green said. “We want our senior adults to know that we have a department of officers who are there for them, any day and any time.”
“Our police officers are here to protect and to serve,” Boyd said. “And, they care about our community and want our senior adults to feel safe in knowing they stand ready for them, any time.”
