Couple charged with drug possession, chemical endangerment of a child

A couple has been booked into the Pike County Jail on a number of charges, which include child endangerment and possession of large quantities of drugs.
Blakely Kwame Carter, 34, and Sheleena Katrice Evans, 31, were pursued by Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Troopers on May 17 and when they were finally arrested the couple allegedly were found with large quantities of both fentanyl and methamphetamine, which were found in the vehicle. Additionally, there was a minor child in the car, as well.
Carter was charged with chemical endangerment of a child, tampering with physical evidence, two counts of drug trafficking, two counts of reckless endangerment, attempting to elude and first-degree possession of marijuana. Carter is being held in the Pike County Jail on a $1,073,000 bond. Evans was charged with two counts of drug trafficking, tampering with physical evidence and chemical endangerment of a child. She is being held on a $1,031,000 bond.
