Earlier this month, the Pike County Chamber of Commerce announced the hiring of longtime Troy resident Dianna Lee as the new Chamber Executive Assistant.

Lee is a Mobile native that originally came to Troy in 1981, earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Troy University. After graduating, she briefly left Troy before returning and has spent nearly four decades in marketing in Troy.

“I’ve marketed, sold or promoted something every business day for about the last 37 years,” Lee said.

Pike County Chamber of Commerce President Bethany Allen called Lee, a “dynamic” addition to her staff.

“We are thrilled to have Dianna,” Allen continued. “She’s a huge asset to the community. There is no one that loves Pike County more than her and she brings so much knowledge and experience to the team.

“She has an infectious personality and I like to describe Dianna as ‘dynamic.’ She is Mrs. Pike County to me. I’ve never seen so much interaction on a social media post than when we posted that we had hired her.”

Lee worked at Troy University for a number of years and spent 25 years as Marketing and Public Relations Officer with Troy Bank and Trust before retiring at the end of 2022.

“I took off for about 11 months and in December (of 2023) I decided I wanted to get back into the workforce part time,” Lee said. “I was briefly with the City of Troy but this position seemed to call out to some of my skillset a little bit more, so I decided to talk with Bethany and joined the Chamber.”

Allen said that Lee’s experience in marketing makes her perfect for the Chamber of Commerce.

“What she said that she’s done for all those years in marketing – selling and promoting – is what we’re doing every day here,” Allen emphasized.

Lee said joining the team at the Pike County Chamber of Commerce felt like coming home to her.

“I’m very, very excited,” Lee said of joining the team. “I’ve been on several chamber committees in the past with Troy Bank and Trust. So, I’ll be stepping in the role of overseeing some of those different programs that were started years ago when I was active on the committees. It’s almost like coming home for me, in a sense.”
