On Friday, it was announced that Troy Baseball head coach Skylar Meade has been named a member of the U.S. Collegiate National Team coaching staff.

Meade will serve as pitching coach for the U.S. during the International Friendship Series this summer. Meade will be on staff as the U.S. team faces off against Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) July 29 through July 3. Meade will be on the coaching staff that includes manager Jose Vazquez (Alabama State), hitting/bench coach John McCormack (Florida-Atlantic), third base coach Mark Calvi (South Alabama), bullpen coach Brady Austin (East Carolina) and assistant coach Kier Meredith, who is a former Clemson player.

“When I was first approached about the opportunity to be pitching coach for Team USA, I was incredibly humbled and excited,” Meade said. “To be able to throw on the red, white and blue uniform will be a supreme honor I don’t take lightly. It will be a lot of fun to work with the best players the United States has to offer starting on June 25th.”

Meade has served as Troy’s head coach for the past three seasons, guiding the Trojans to a 109-68 record during that span with an NCAA Regional Appearance in 2023. The Louisville, Ky., native had stints as a pitching coach at Eastern Illinois, Middle Tennessee State, Michigan State and South Carolina before coming to Troy. Meade has coached a total of 28 MLB Draft Picks during his career.

The Collegiate National Team Training Camp will feature 56 of the top non-draft eligible college players in the country, which includes Troy junior Brooks Bryan.
