At a time when food prices continue to rise, J’Ean “Mama Jay” Collins will kick off her Back 2 School event on Saturday with a Free Pancake Breakfast and Back to School Jamboree from 8 a.m. until noon followed by the Back 2 School Jamboree until 5 p.m. at “The Island Girl Café on S.A. Graham Blvd. in downtown Brundidge.

“This is Mama Jay’s way of saying thank you to all those who support the “Island Girl Café” in Brundidge and to encourage others to come visit us,” Collins said. “We have a free Back to School Jamboree before school opens and another the day after Christmas both sponsored by Island Girl Café and other local entities.

The Island Café’s 2024 Back to School event on Saturday is kid centered.

“Beginning at noon, we’ll have a lot of activities for the kids – water balloons, slip and slide, a bouncy house and different kinds of games.” Collins said. “The jamboree will be an opportunity to learn more about the Island Girl Café and all that we have to offer. We believe in giving back to the community. The Back 2 School Jamboree is one way the Island Girl gives back.”
