Already the Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library in Brundidge is gearing up for last days of summer vacation with a Back-to-Hogwarts Harry Potter Party from 3 until 5 p.m. Thursday, August 1 at the downtown library.
Diann Childers, library director, said the Harry Potter Party is for children and teens and will include snacks, crafts, activities and more.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Costumes are encouraged.
The August Reading Challenge is encouragement for children and youth readers to “Check out a book about school.”
“Tupper” is celebrating back to school by clearing overdue fines. The entire months of August and September are Back-to-School Fine Forgiveness months. However, Childers said, the “forgiveness” does not apply to lost or damaged items.
Also of note, “Nerds of a Feather” will be held on August 29 instead of August 22.
The library’s regular programs resume as follows: Preschool September 3 and Homeschool, September 5.
