Troy man charged with attempted murder

Troy police responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 Block of Cedar Drive in Troy, Al on July 28, 2025, at 1:25AM. The victim, a 17-year-old male of Troy was taken to Troy Regional Medical Center by POV before officers arrived on the scene of the shooting. The victim had been shot twice in the back. He was then transferred to a Montgomery hospital for further treatment. His injuries were not life threatening.
Troy Police along with the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force have arrested 36-year-old Demetrius F. Flowers of Troy for Attempted Murder in relation to this shooting. Flowers has been processed at the Troy City Jail and transported to the Pike County Jail where he is being held on a $75,000.00 bond.
The Troy Police Department is investigating this case with assistance from the Pike County District Attorney’s Office.
